Samsung unveils Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition

As we had reported, Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition. It has been announced in Brazil, to celebrate the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Edition will go on sale on July 18. However, the price of the device has not been revealed.

Samsung is a major sponsor of the Olympics which is scheduled to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with the opening ceremony taking place on August 5. Samsung has announced that it will deliver 12,500 Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Games Limited Edition, along with Gear IconX to all Rio 2016 Olympians.

The smartphone comes with yellow accents on the front, red and green on the sides, and blue on the back that includes the five official colors of the Olympic Rings. In addition, the colors are found on the device's home and lock screens, the message, dial, contacts screens and notification bar. The limited edition S7 edge also comes pre-loaded with Rio 2016 app along with themed wallpapers.

2016 S7 Edge Olympic Games Edition smartphones will be available to sale from July 18 in select countries including the US, Brazil, China, Germany, and Korea.

However, there is no difference in terms of specs between the normal and Olympic Edition of Galaxy S7 Edge. This special edition also has 5.5 inch screen with Quad HD resolution. The phone is also water and resistant and thus have been IP68 certified. Besides, it has 12 megapixel rear camera with F1.7 aperture, phase detection auto focus, motion panorama, motion photo, and hyper lapse features. It has 5 megapixel front camera that comes with wide selfie mode.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has 4 GB RAM, 200 GB micro SD card slot, hybrid dual SIM (the SIM2 slot can be used for micro SD card or the SIM2), and Samsung Exynos chipset. The S7 Edge has a 3600 mAh battery with wireless charging and Quick charging facilities.
